All activities related to Health and Prevention have allowed the City to obtain this favourable review. These activities have been expressed through activities to promote the prevention of cardiovascular disease, supported by the municipality and the associations of Chamalières taking part in the great national cause of health, showing the importance of working together closely. This is a commitment which testifies to the investment of Chamalières in the Prevention/Health sphere, maintained for many years. Public health is a mainstay of the politics of development of the City. .
In the third edition of the challenge for the most sportsmanlike city in the Massif Central (6 regions and 22 departments), which takes place every two years, the City distinguished itself in 2010, winning 3rd prize (category of municipality with 10,000 to 20,000 inhabitants).
The evaluation criteria highlight the municipality’s investment in sports policy, the quality of equipment and the dynamics of the city’s sports associations.
Marianne d’Or "Early Childhood"
On June 3, 2006, Alain Trampogliéri, general secretary of the "Marianne d’Or" competition, awarded "la Marianne d’Or 2006" for Youth and Early Childhood to the Mayor of Chamalières. At present, the municipality takes good care of its young residents: the opening of "l’îlot tendresse" (a multi-purpose welcome structure for early childhood), the election of the Young Municipal Council, the creation in the park of the municipality of a botanical garden with pedagogical and educational purposes, testify to this care.
